Join a diverse international field of swimmers for a challenging 1.9km or 3.8km race. Enjoy the calm waters along the course, protected from the currents of the channel. Spectators can line the route and cheer on the swimmers. Finish the race at the Long Course Weekend festival grounds, near the impressive West Front monument. The Nieuwpoort Swim is one of the only open water swimming competitions in Belgium. The start is at the Old Fish Market and you swim towards the entrance of the largest marina in Northern Europe. As the start of the Long Course Weekend you swim against an international field of participants over 3,8km. Despite the sea water you swim in calm water because of the protection against the current of the channel and the spectators can also walk along the entire course. In the shadow of the West Front monument and with the finish on the Long Course Weekend festival grounds, this will undoubtedly be a race to remember.

Course highlights

The swim course is one of the only open-water swim courses in Belgium. Set on the river delta in the port of Nieuwpoort, the Nieuwpoort Swim takes place in a setting to marvel about. The perfect start of the Long Course Weekend. The course starts and finishes in the harbour of the city and right next to the Nieuwpoort memorial in honour of British soldiers.
