IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon & 5K

Indianapolis is renowned for its passion for speed and major sporting events, making the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon one of the nation's largest half marathons and hailed by Runner’s World as one of America’s Most Iconic Races. Athletes from across the spectrum, including over 35,000 runners, joggers, walkers, and wheelchair racers, converge on downtown Indianapolis for the event known as The Greatest Spectacle in Running – the Indy Mini.The race kicks off uniquely with an IndyCar leading each wave through a flat, fast course brimming with the support of countless volunteers and nearly 100 entertainment acts. A highlight for participants is the lap around the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the Indy 500. Upon reaching the Speedway’s Yard of Bricks, many uphold the tradition of kneeling to kiss the bricks—a nod to the event's rich traditions.
