The Vientiane International Marathon offers a rare chance to experience Laos’s capital on foot through a city tour-style race that blends athletic challenge with cultural discovery. Runners will navigate key streets and landmarks of Vientiane, taking in its colonial architecture, riverside views, and warm community spirit. Marathon
Hillary Kipchumba got a win, finishing with a time of 02:23:40. He bested James Gikunga Karanja who crossed the finish line 3 minutes 47 seconds behind him. Finishing third was Kebede Aberra (02:27:50).
In the women’s race, Margret Njuguna Wangui took top spot in 03:12:30 , followed by Aregay Gebremeskkei who finished with a time of 03:14:10. Rounding out the top three was Souksavanh Malivanh with a time of 03:21:18.

Enock Kigen took top honours by finishing the race in 01:09:59, followed by Touy Saiyasaeng who finished with a time of 01:20:29. Rounding out the top three was Phubase Pokinwong with a time of 01:24:27.
In the ladies race, Tongkham Soutthiphone finished first in 01:36:50 . She bested Sunyar Inthavong who crossed the finish line 6 minutes 14 seconds behind her. Finishing third was Helen Cason (01:46:40).
