Held in December—when Laos enjoys dry, sunny days, blue skies, and cool temperatures averaging 19–22°C—the event draws both local and international participants for a festive year-end celebration in one of Southeast Asia’s most relaxed and culturally rich capitals.

Marathon Hillary Kipchumba got a win, finishing with a time of 02:23:40. He bested James Gikunga Karanja who crossed the finish line 3 minutes 47 seconds behind him. Finishing third was Kebede Aberra (02:27:50). In the women’s race, Margret Njuguna Wangui took top spot in 03:12:30 , followed by Aregay Gebremeskkei who finished with a time of 03:14:10. Rounding out the top three was Souksavanh Malivanh with a time of 03:21:18.
