Rock Tahoe Half Marathon returns for 5th year

4th annual Rock Tahoe Half Marathon set for Saturday on Lake Tahoe East Shore


 Jason Gortari claimed victory with a time of 01:25:58. Coming in second was Joseph Jauregui (01:26:46). Finishing third was Jim Harvey (01:27:07). 
 For the women,  Holly O’Brien took top spot in 01:36:36 . She bested Allison Henderson who crossed the finish line 7 seconds behind her. Rounding out the top three was Cynthia Almlie with a time of 01:39:16.

 Last Saturday, the inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon was held on the shores of Lake Tahoe. 
 The fast race was won by Ron Young with a time of 01:14:51. In the women’s race Kristen Fayter was the first to cross the finish line in 01:27:03.

Rock Tahoe Half Marathon runs in to Tahoe this weekend

First-ever Rock Tahoe Half Marathon to be held Saturday

 (Dec. 30, 2014) – Epic Tahoe Adventures (“ETA”) and the new Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Lake Tahoe are thrilled to present the inaugural Rock Tahoe Half Marathon on Saturday, June 20, 2015! Focusing on providing events for the recreationally engaged weekend warriors that like to work hard and play even harder, ETA is excited to partner with the Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Lake Tahoe to present this one of a kind event in Tahoe South. Runners will get to truly experience everything the new Lake Tahoe has to offer as they Run – Rock – Recover. 
 The Rock Tahoe Half Marathon starts at Spooner Summit and drops over 1000ft as it winds its way down Highway 50 along the stunning East Shore of Lake Tahoe to a finish line directly in front of the brand new Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Lake Tahoe. The course will also take runners off the highway along the newly completed forest bike path from Round Hill Pines to Rabe Meadow, weaving through beautiful scenery to truly capture the beauty of the region. 
 As the official sponsor hotel of the race, runners will have the option to purchase special weekend packages featuring a 2-night stay, free play, and more! When the property officially opens at the end of January 2015, The Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Lake Tahoe will be a fully integrated gaming resort offering over 500 slot machines and a wide variety of table games.  The property will include a 539-room Hard Rock Hotel, a 25,000 plus square foot casino, the world-famous retail store, multiple restaurants and bars, the largest outdoor pool experience in South Lake Tahoe, and an assortment of live-entertainment both indoors and out. 
 ETA is helmed by the Chief Officer of Awesomeness, Jason Collin, and Director of Everything Rad, Sean Sweeney – both South Lake Tahoe locals with a long standing involvement and commitment to the community. “We are thrilled to partner with the new Hard Rock Hotel &amp; Casino Lake Tahoe and think they offer a perfect complement to our brand and will provide our runners with an incredible experience, both on and off the course,” said Collin.
