Antarctic Polar Race

Welcome to the Antarctic Polar Race™, the ultimate athletic challenge in the Antarctica Athletics Championships at the marathon distance.Athletes can compete for continental titles in both male and female categories. Events include a 1-mile race, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon. There are also options for a bike race and a duathlon event.

Participants will fly from Cape Town to Antarctica to tackle a 21.1km groomed course.

Upon returning to South Africa, there's an opportunity to run a second marathon at the breathtaking Seapoint Promenade, Cape Town. The Lion’s Head Marathon™ offers athletes a chance to complete two official marathon distances on two continents within the same journey. A transition from Ice to Fire.
