Experience Oman Muscat Marathon

Originally organized by Muscat Road Runners with just 135 competitors, the Muscat Marathon has swiftly risen to prominence as a celebrated international sporting event. Renamed the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, it is now a collaborative effort between Al Mouj Muscat, Oman Sail, and Muscat Road Runners, hosted at the iconic Al Mouj Muscat venue. The marathon has further enhanced its appeal with Experience Oman as the title sponsor, emphasizing Oman’s rich heritage and vibrant culture while promoting healthy lifestyles and establishing Oman as a leading sports tourism destination. This prestigious event offers a unique opportunity for international participants, media, and spectators to experience Oman’s breathtaking landscapes, warm hospitality, and diverse attractions. The marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, and 10K routes are all certified by AIMS, meeting the high standards of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Complementary events include the popular 5K Charity Fun Run, which raises significant funds for various causes, and the Kids’ Run, known for selling out quickly.

The most recent marathon attracted nearly 13,000 participants from 102 different countries, making it a vibrant two-day celebration of running. It remains a key event on the global sports calendar, fostering community engagement and strengthening Oman's position as an elite sports destination.
