The Frozen Lake Marathon offers a truly one-of-a-kind running experience, held on the frozen Tisleifjorden Lake in Norway. Set 819 meters above sea level, this marathon challenges participants to race across 80 cm thick ice — capable of supporting up to 30 tons, roughly the weight of 577 Eliud Kipchoges. As you lace up your shoes and step onto the ice, you'll be embraced by the natural beauty of the frozen landscape and the crisp Arctic air. We create a lap of 21,4 km on the frozen lake that you run once (21,4 km), or twice (42,8 km). The race consists of one or two 21,1 km laps on a course of 100% ice. A safe course is plotted by an assembled support team. The team monitors the course closely and the final course is laid out just days before the race start.
