Cartago Marathon

The Bicentennial Marathon will be held in the province that earned its independence. We have three potential plans in place, depending on the progress of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination efforts: the first is an in-person event, the second is a hybrid, and the third is an all-virtual event taking place from day one. The kits will be distributed incrementally throughout the month to avoid large gatherings. Medals will be awarded at the ruins of Carthage. The route of the race will be revealed shortly; it is to be a certified 21k route, and runners of the 42k will have to run the route twice. The route will take runners through the ruins of Carthage, the Basilica of Carthage, its surrounding neighborhoods, the sports center, and other notable areas of Carthage.
